Never owned one before. We have 4 golden retrievers. Lots of hair. We use our whole house vacuum for all cleaning. We wanted to try this Shark to see if we ran it every night would it extend time between major vacuum cleanings. We have hardwood throughout house with oriental throw rugs in rooms and halls. Week 1……after setting it up which was extremely easy, we used the timed cleaning. Set it out at night. It picked up a ton of dog hair!!

This is our first robo vacuum and we LOVE it! We have 5 cats and 3 dogs who all go in and out. We have vinyl plank flooring throughout the house. This little Shark vacuum (We named ours Lurch.. lol), cleans the floor considerably better than the stand up vacuum I was using. It was a higher end Bissell designed for pet owners. I don’t know how much other robo vacs tend to get stuck, this being our first, but it doesn’t! You do need to pick up the floor, obviously, but the only times it stopped and “called” for help, it had a sock I had missed once, and a paper towel another. For the most part, it just starts working at the programed time each day and gets the floor extremely clean.

This is my first Shark robot vacuum, after having a Samsung and a Neato. It looks amazing, with high-quality silver and textured plastics. I had to wait a bit for it to map out the area before cleaning. It did a great job of avoiding obstacles, thanks to its sensors and mapping. It never bumped into my furniture, but I noticed some scratches on its face. That worried me, because the lenses were also scratched. I hope this won't affect its performance, like it did with my other robots. I wish the lenses were more protected. The vacuum works better than my previous ones. I don't know how strong the suction is, because it shuts off when I lift it. I can't hear the difference between normal and max suction, so I just use max. It's very quiet. I'm happy with this vacuum. It does a good job.
